Spending time between Wisconsin and New York, whilst writing poetry as a youth, rolling with Jagged Edge and becoming Ushers friend and musical collaborator. That’s the starting point in life for rapper, singer and music maker Rico Love.

An early song by Love was Throwback, which was included on the 10x platinum album Confessions album by Usher. For this album Love was nominated for the Grammy for Album Of The Year and won the Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B album in 2005. Further Grammy action arrived for Love for the four songs he wrote for Beyoncé’s 2008 album I Am…Sasha Fierce, including the track Sweet Dreams.

Further writing from Love produced sizeable hits for the likes of Mary J Blige, Brandy, Mario, Nelly and Kelly Rowland. However, it was with Usher again that Grammy success struck again, with a win for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance on the song There Goes My Baby from his Raymond Vs Raymond album.
