Growing up in Atlanta, Jason Boyd, better known by his stage name Poo Bear, has worked with the full who’s who of the US RnB fraternity. Starting out with hot Atlanta act 112, for whom he wrote the Grammy nominated single Peaches & Cream. His next big move was his work for Usher’s Caught Up, which was a single from the artist’s 10 million selling Confessions album. A trip to Las Vegas in 2013 allowed for Poo Bear’s friend Lil Twist to introduce him to Justin Bieber and this started a hugely successful creative relationship which gave birth to some of the biggest songs over the last decade. The album Purpose was released in 2015, reaching Number 1 in the US and also in 17 other countries. Nine out of the 13 songs were written by Poo Bear and two of the key singles from the album, the now billion streaming (On Spotify along) What Do You Mean and Company were written by Poo Bear.

Another song by Poo Bear to receive a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording was the Where Are Ü Now (with Justin Bieber) single from Jack Ü, Skrill, Diplo and Justin Bieber.

Poo Bear was involved with the remix version of Luis Fonsi’s Despacito. Released in April 2017, this single became the first video to reach the milestones of three, four, five, six and seven billion views. The song reached Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, staying there for 16 consecutive weeks. It topped the charts in 47 different countries, including the UK, and across Europe. It was the best-selling and most streamed single in 2017 in the US, making it top 10 in the best-selling songs of the 2010’s. In 2018 ,this remix version received 3 Grammy nominations for Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best Pop Performance of the year.
