In the early 1970’s, Eric Stewart, Graham Gouldman, Kevin Godley and Lol Crème formed the band 10cc. Their hooks and harmonies immediately led to a UK Number 2 hit with their first release Donna, and was followed by their self-titled album in 1973 which featured Rubber Bullets which became a UK Number 1 and Irish hit for the band and another Top 10 hit with The Dean And I. The hits kept coming with Wall Street Shuffle and what has arguably become the bands signature tune I’m Not In Love, a song that went to Number 1 in the UK, Canada and Ireland and gave the band their first American hit, peaking at Number 2 in the US. It also features the song Une Nuit A Paris, a close to 9 minute long opus which Queen have cited as being an inspiration for their song Bohemian Rhapsody.
Curtis Jackson, aka 50 Cent, was a native of Queens borough of New York. He was signed by Eminem in 2002 who then helped steroid inject him to major crossover success. His background stories provided the narrative for his writings, but his bonus skill was his craft for a catchy hook. His enormous success was driven by hits such as In Da Club, P.I.M.P. and Candy Shop. 50 Cent has achieved 13 nominations including Best New Artist nomination in 2004 and 5 Grammys for his second album The Massacre. In 2010 he won Best Rap Performance for Crack A Bottle ft Eminem and Dr. Dre.
Airbourne was formed in 2003 in Australia in the great tradition of Aussie pub rock of bands like AC/DC. With the two brothers, Joel and Ryan O’Keefe, at its core, the band, inspired by the bands of 70’s and 80’s, set about sonically pursuing their hard rock godfathers. Their albums are full of pint-lifting anthems with loads of energy and loads of power.
Al Jackson Jr. set the standard for soul drumming, prompting his nick name ‘The Human Timekeeper’. He was a founding member of Booker T + The MG’s, the house band for Stax Records out of Memphis, Tennesse. He played drums on recordings by such legends as Otis Redding, Eddie Floyd and Sam & Dave. His work alongside soul superstar Al Green, and as a co-writer, led to the career defining hits Let’s Stay Together and I’m Still In Love With You. He made contributions to work by Elvis Presley, Rod Stewart, Jerry Lee Lewis, Eric Clapton and Aretha Franklin.
Nedler is a songwriter and producer from Stockholm. He often creates with fellow writer Kristoffer Fogelmark. He has written across the pop landscape delivering sizeable hits for artists including 5SOS, MØ, DNCE, Flo Rida and also for One Direction on their second studio album Take Me Home.
