Formed in 2002 after studying at Stafford University, this group made up of Tom Smith, Chris Urbanowicz, Russell Leetch and Ed Lay moved to Birmingham and focused on their craft. They emerged in the landscape of bands like Bloc Party and Interpol and with their Joy Division and Echo And the Bunnymen inspired sounds created their debut album The Back Room in 2005. This post punk album charted at Number 2, achieved platinum status and garnered a Mercury Prize nomination and includes one of the band’s signature songs Munich. The next two follow up albums An End Has a Start and In This Light and on This Evening both achieved a Number 1 UK chart position.
